The History of the Angelito brothers
and their evolution

Angelito was the nickname of the grandfather Angel, who in 1960 helped his two grandsons Leonardo and Hugo Andrade to build their first fishing boat. This boat enabled the Galapagos born brothers to earn a living and support their families.

As pioneers in the Galapagos, they gave up fishing and converted their boat to be able to receive visitors, to show them the Galapagos Islands with deep insider knowledge of this unique place. By leaving fishing behind, they took the important first step to actively promote the protection and conservation of the Galapagos Islands.

After more than a decade of working in tourism with the small Angelito boat, the brothers took advantage of their great experience to build a new yacht, the ANGELITO, launched in 1992.

But evolution goes on, and in 2013 the ANGELITO was totally refurbished: the high quality of craftsmanship was maintained, while the amount of space and the comfort level was notably increased! The eight double cabins are now all on the main deck, with large picture windows, private bathrooms, individual air conditioning, and the option to have twin beds or a double bed accommodation. With two new engines, two new generators, all new electric and electronic installations, and conscientious maintenance, safety is guaranteed.

Angelito Itineraries explained

The Angelito has two-week-long routes: Itinerary A, which includes highlights like; Genovesa, Bartholomew and Española, and Itinerary B, which includes highlights like; Isabela, Fernandina, and Floreana.
Itinerary A can be split into 5 and 4-day cruises, Itinerary B only does week-long cruises. Additionally, combinations for 10, 11, and 15 days are possible, without any repetition of visiting points.

8-Day A Itinerary

The Angelito´s 8-Day A itinerary is quite unique. You visit amazing Galapagos highlights such as:

  • Santiago
  • Bartholomew
  • Rabida

On top of this you will make stops at two Galapagos icons:

  • Española island
  • Genovesa island.

Because the owners of the Angelito are Galapagos pioneers they came up with this unorthodox itinerary which will provide an unforgettable Galapagos experience.

Shorter 4 and 5 day versions of the A itinerary are available. If you dont have a week to spend in the Galapagos Islands you can opt for a shorter but still great itinerary. Both itineraries are great, nevertheless the 5-Day A itinerary is top-notch.

8-Day B Itinerary

If you thought the A itinerary was great you have are in for a treat with the B itinerary of the Angelito.

On the 8-Day B itinerary of the Angelito you will head west to the fabulous islands of Fernandina and Isabela. The western islands in the Galapagos are the most sought after islands. They will provide a guaranteed perfect Galapagos experience, including, tons of wildlife, a chance to spot whales, incredible activities, and amazing snorkeling. All this with hand-picked guides.

On top of all this, you will head to Floreana island (one of my favorites) where you will learn a bit of Galapagos history and traditions and will get to snorkel at the best snorkeling site in the Galapagos – the Devil´s Crown.

Connoisseur Tip:

Although the 8-Day A itinerary is excellent, the 8-Day B itinerary of the Angelito takes the cake. It´s an amazing week-long itinerary of the Western islands. It feels hand-picked and you can tell it was created by Galapagos natives who know what you should see when cruising the archipelago.

Come aboard the best Galapagos budget-friendly cruise, the Angelito. Experience the Galapagos islands like only a local knows how.
