The idea of Galapagos Connoisseur came about while Andres (owner/founder) was working in tourism in Ecuador. He realized most “local” travel companies were owned and run by foreigners. This did not sit well with Andres and he decided to start a boutique travel company owned and run by a REAL local and connoisseur.

My name is Andrés Salazar, owner and founder of Galapagos Connoisseur, and true local.
I have years of experience working with tourism in Ecuador. I have worked with independent travelers, groups, B2Bs, Peace Corps volunteers and exclusive luxury travelers.
Ever since I was a kid I traveled throughout Ecuador. One of my fondest memories to date is when my parents took me to the Galapagos Islands on a cruise. Since then I have always been on the lookout for unique destinations in Ecuador.
