Coral I&II Itineraries explained

Onboard the Coral I&II Galapagos expedition yachts, you will have four itineraries to choose from:

4-day A itinerary

This itinerary will have you visit the Charles Darwin Research Station in order to mingle with Giant Galapagos Tortoises and learn a bit of Galapagos history. And you get to visit some Central island highlights such as Bartholomew, Rabida, and Santiago Island.

5-day B itinerary

On this itinerary you will head to the sought after Western Islands of Isabela and Fernandina. This is a great itinerary and the only 5-day itinerary I´ve seen that visits the Western Islands. On top of all this, you will be able to visit Santiago Island for more wildlife encounters and great snorkeling. Highly recommended!

4- day C itinerary

The C itinerary will have you visit the Charles Darwin Research Station in order to mingle with Giant Galapagos Tortoises and learn a bit of Galapagos history. Then you visit Central islands such as Santa Fe where you can spot the endemic Santa Fe iguana, North Seymour, and Mosquera Islet. You will also head to San Cristobal to circumnavigate around Kicker Rock a renowned Galapagos icon.

5- day D itinerary

Finally, the D itinerary takes you to San Cristobal to visit Witch Hill and Punta Pitt where along the way you will be able to spot all three types of boobies. I know I did…

Then it takes you south to Floreana and Española which are two of my favorite Galapagos Islands. You will have a chance to spot the magnificent Galapagos Albatross in Española as well as a sea lion ¨nursery¨as you land on the island.

In Floreana, you will have a chance to learn some Galapagos history. When you visit Post Office Bay you can take part in a tradition started by the whalers of yesteryear. In the afternoon you visit Cormorant point. Here you will encounter a green sand beach, spot pink flamingoes along the way, and end up at a white sand beach known as “Flour Beach”.

The best snorkeling site in the Galapagos Islands

You will also be able to snorkel at the Devil´s Crown. Hands down the best snorkeling site in the Galapagos Islands!

Connoisseur Tip:

It’s hard to decide which itinerary is best onboard the Galapagos Legend cruise ship. A 4-day itinerary might be too short to truly enjoy the Galapagos. I´ve been on 4-day itineraries and the last day I woke up wanting at least an extra day onboard. Many travelers combine a 4 and 5 day itinerary together to get an 8-day week long itinerary. This is a good idea but it might be too long onboard a boat.

My favorite itineraries are the 5-day B and D itineraries. Another great option is to take the D itinerary which takes you to Floreana and Española and then stay on the islands at a fancy hotel in Santa Cruz and Isabela Island.

Either way, you choose to cruise aboard the Coral I & II expeditions yachts, you will have an experience of a lifetime!
