Humming bird at the Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge

A birdwatcher dream come true in the Cloud Forest

The Lodge

The Bellavista Lodge offers comfortable lodging in the midst of the Ecuador cloud forest. The lodge boasts its own 700 hectares (2000 acres) private reserve, as well as tasty and varied cuisine and the perfect spot for world-class birdwatching.

Private reserve and trails

The Colombo-British owners and all who work here believe in genuinely friendly, personal service. Furthermore, they strive to offer the right elements for a superb experience. Experience ecotourism as it truly should be, Bellavista Lodge offers many options to explore the trails of the lodge’s vast reserve along with naturalist guides or on your own.

What to do at the Bellavista Lodge

You have plenty of activities to choose from at the lodge. These activities include; birding, giant tree ferns, cascading waterfalls, the enigmatic Olinguito, fantastic views of the forest and plunging valleys.

Come for a few days, or, if time is truly short, for just a day trip.

Explore the cloud forest and then expand your experience with trips to other cloud forest highlights of the Northwest. Highlights include; Cock-of-the-Rock, Umbrellabird, canopy zip line and even more waterfalls.

A must visit during your Ecuador travel experience!

Truly a birdwatcher’s dream come true!

Connoisseur Tip:

I have personally been to the Bellavista Lodge. During a bike tour from Nono (small town atop the Pichincha Mountain) to Mindo we made a quick stop at the Bellavista Lodge. I got to inspect the lodge and during the short time I was there, I was able to spot about 10 different species of Hummingbirds and a couple of tree jumping squirrels. The trails found at the lodge are truly one-of-a-kind. Check out some pics and further info on the Bellavista Lodge and the cloud forest area on my blog.
